Children's Meeting
Children's Meeting
Santa Fe Friends Meeting welcomes all families and children. Our children's Meeting begins each Sunday at 10:50. Parents help their children get settled in the children's area before going to worship in the Meeting room.
Our children's program explores Quaker faith, practice, and witness. We often use the cirriculum Faith and Play which you can read more about below. It fosters spiritual community through wonder, using simple materials to tell stories about Quaker history, testimonies, and the Divine.
The ages of the participating children help to determine the games, stories, songs, and crafts. At 11:50 Children's Meeting ends as the children enter the Meeting room and join the adults in worship.

Deep respect for children and youth and their spiritual lives is at the heart of Faith & Play. Our Children’s Meeting intends to create and maintain an open, safe, and welcoming classroom environment that nurtures wonder and loving community.
The method used with Faith & Play stories helps young people access their spiritual lives and it gives them words and images for expressing what they experience of the Divine in each day. They are drawn deeply into their own individual and community experience of Spirit. Through their responses to experiential wondering questions, children and youth have opportunities to express where they find themselves in the stories.
