Welcome to the Guest Apartment
of the Santa Fe Friends Canyon Road former Meetinghouse
If you are looking for a quaint, comfortable and affordable place to stay while visiting Santa Fe, or desire to have a quiet personal retreat, you may wish to make a reservation for our guest apartment. Please note: NO pets are allowed.
Located on historic Canyon Road, attached to the former Meetinghouse but with a private entrance, this lovely apartment was originally used as guest space by Olive Rush, the Hoosier Quaker artist. Olive hosted Friends while she lived here from the 1920’s to 1966, when she donated her home to Friends.
The guest apartment is simply furnished with a queen-size bed, small bath with shower, and a kitchenette which includes dishes, sink, microwave, refrigerator, and hotplate. We provide clean linens (towels, sheets and blankets) and a warm welcome. There is also a phone for free local calls or credit card use, as well as free Wi-Fi.
To keep things simple, guests make their own beds, tidy their own space, and can cook simple meals. There is a warmth and charm in the old adobe dwelling which is literally “down-to-earth”. The entire property is a non-smoking space.
The apartment is within walking distance to cafes, restaurants, art galleries, and shops. The historic Santa Fe Plaza is about six blocks away. No reserved parking is provided, but on-street parking is usually available in front of the building or two blocks up on Canyon road and, if necessary, always available two short blocks away on Camino Escondido (see below).
Guests are invited to participate in our community of spiritual stewardship or work in the garden as they feel led. Visitors and guests often enjoy walking or meditating in the large enclosed garden at the rear of the property.
Reservations are for a minimum of 3 days, and a deposit for one night's stay is required. The deposit will be returned if the reservation is canceled at least 30 days in advance. It is recommended to make reservations as far ahead as possible.
Suggested donations are based on operating expenses, but gifts beyond that are most welcome: $65/day for one or two persons. Checks are made payable to: Santa Fe Friends Meeting. Checks or cash only, please, as we can not accept credit or debit cards. Donations help us maintain this historic property.
